The Itinerary Details

Day 1: Drive to Uttarey

Elevation: 2,050 m

Drive from Siliguri / Darjeeling / Pelling to the remote mountain village of Uttarey, located near the border of Sikkim and Nepal. The drive passes through beautiful mountain roads, cardamom plantations, and traditional villages.

Highlight: Scenic Himalayan drive and entry point to the Singalila wilderness.

Day 2: Uttarey → Chewabhanjyang → Dhor

Distance: ~12 km
Elevation: 2,050 m → 3,100 m
Trek Time: 6–7 hrs

The trek begins with a gradual climb through dense forests and mountain trails toward Chewabhanjyang, a historic pass on the Indo-Nepal border. From here, the trail follows the Singalila Ridge before reaching the campsite at Dhor.

Highlight: First views of the Singalila ridge and Himalayan landscape.

Day 3: Dhor → Phoktey Dara

Distance: ~10 km
Elevation: 3,100 m → 3,730 m
Trek Time: 5–6 hrs

One of the most beautiful trekking days. The trail moves along scenic ridgelines and alpine meadows before reaching Phoktey Dara, one of the most spectacular viewpoints in the entire Singalila range.

From here, trekkers can witness an incredible panorama of Kanchenjunga, Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and other Himalayan giants.

Highlight: Sunset and sunrise views from Phoktey Dara ridge.

Day 4: Phoktey Dara → Phalut

Distance: ~7 km
Elevation: 3,730 m → 3,600 m
Trek Time: 4–5 hrs

The trail continues along the Singalila Ridge, offering continuous views of the Kanchenjunga massif. The route gradually climbs toward Phalut, one of the highest points on the Singalila ridge.

Phalut is famous for its close-up panoramic views of the Kanchenjunga range, making it one of the most dramatic viewpoints in the Eastern Himalayas.

Highlight: Panoramic Himalayan views from Phalut Peak.

Day 5: Phalut → Gorkhey

Distance: ~14 km
Elevation: 3,600 m → 2,400 m
Trek Time: 6–7 hrs

The trail descends through beautiful rhododendron forests and bamboo groves toward the peaceful village of Gorkhey, located in a lush green valley with a river flowing through the village.

Highlight: One of the most beautiful villages in the Singalila region.

Day 6: Gorkhey → Srikhola

Distance: ~6 km
Elevation: 2,400 m → 1,900 m
Trek Time: 3–4 hrs

A short and relaxing trek takes you through dense forests and small mountain trails to reach Srikhola, a peaceful riverside village famous for its suspension bridge and tranquil natural setting.

The rest of the day can be spent relaxing by the river and celebrating the completion of the trek.

Highlight: Peaceful riverside stay at Srikhola village.

Day 7: Srikhola → Drive to Darjeeling / Siliguri

After breakfast, drive from Srikhola back to Darjeeling or Siliguri, marking the end of this beautiful Himalayan journey.

Highlight: Scenic mountain drive back through the foothills of the Himalayas.
