Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Elevation: 1,400 m

Arrive in Kathmandu, the vibrant capital of Nepal. After airport pickup, transfer to your hotel and meet your trekking guide for a briefing about the journey ahead. The rest of the day can be spent exploring the lively streets of Thamel, checking trekking gear, or visiting nearby cultural sites.

Highlight: First introduction to Nepal’s culture and preparation for the Everest adventure.

Day 2: Fly Kathmandu → Lukla → Trek to Phakding

Distance: ~8 km
Elevation: 2,860 m → 2,610 m

Take an early morning flight to Lukla, one of the most thrilling mountain airports in the world. The 30-minute flight offers spectacular views of Himalayan peaks. From Lukla, the trek begins with a gentle descent through Sherpa villages, prayer wheels, and mani walls before reaching Phakding, a peaceful village beside the Dudh Koshi River.

Highlight: Scenic Himalayan flight and the first walk through the Khumbu valley.

Day 3: Phakding → Namche Bazaar

The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges decorated with prayer flags. After entering Sagarmatha National Park, the trail climbs steeply toward Namche Bazaar, the main trading hub of the Everest region. Along the way, trekkers may catch their first glimpse of Mount Everest.

Day 4: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar

To help the body adjust to higher altitude, a short acclimatization hike is recommended. Popular options include hiking to the Everest View Hotel or visiting the nearby villages of Khumjung and Khunde. These hikes provide spectacular views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Thamserku.

Day 6: Tengboche → Dingboche

Day 7: Acclimatization Day in Dingboche

Day 8: Dingboche → Lobuche

Day 9: Lobuche → Everest Base Camp → Gorakshep

Today is the most anticipated day of the trek. The trail follows the edge of the Khumbu Glacier to reach Everest Base Camp, the starting point for climbers attempting to summit Mount Everest. After celebrating at base camp, return to Gorakshep for the night.

Day 10: Gorakshep → Kala Patthar → Dzongla

Distance: ~13 km
Elevation: 5,164 m → 5,545 m → 4,830 m

An early morning hike to Kala Patthar offers the best close-up view of Mount Everest and the surrounding Himalayan giants. After enjoying the sunrise, descend and continue trekking toward Dzongla.

Day 11: Dzongla → Cho La Pass → Thagnak

One of the most adventurous days of the trek. The route climbs over the Cho La Pass, crossing glaciers and rocky terrain. From the pass, spectacular views of surrounding Himalayan peaks unfold before descending toward Thagnak.

Day 12: Thagnak → Gokyo

Distance: ~6 km
Elevation: 4,700 m → 4,800 m
Trek Time: 3–4 hrs

The trail crosses the Ngozumpa Glacier, the longest glacier in the Himalayas. Soon the turquoise waters of the famous Gokyo Lakes appear, creating one of the most stunning landscapes in the Everest region.

Day 13: Gokyo → Gokyo Ri → Machhermo

Day 14: Machhermo → Namche Bazaar
