Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Elevation: 1,400 m
Arrive in Kathmandu, the vibrant capital of Nepal. After airport pickup, transfer to your hotel and meet your trekking guide for a briefing about the journey ahead. The rest of the day can be spent exploring the lively streets of Thamel, checking trekking gear, or visiting nearby cultural sites.
Highlight: First introduction to Nepal’s culture and preparation for the Everest adventure.
Day 2: Fly Kathmandu → Lukla → Trek to Phakding
Distance: ~8 km
Elevation: 2,860 m → 2,610 m
Trek Time: 3–4 hrs
Take an early morning flight to Lukla, one of the most thrilling mountain airports in the world. The 30-minute flight offers spectacular views of Himalayan peaks. From Lukla, the trek begins with a gentle descent through Sherpa villages, prayer wheels, and mani walls before reaching Phakding, a peaceful village beside the Dudh Koshi River.
Highlight: Scenic Himalayan flight and the first walk through the Khumbu valley.
Day 3: Phakding → Namche Bazaar
Distance: ~11 km
Elevation: 2,610 m → 3,440 m
Trek Time: 6–7 hrs
The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges decorated with prayer flags. After entering Sagarmatha National Park, the trail climbs steeply toward Namche Bazaar, the main trading hub of the Everest region. Along the way, trekkers may catch their first glimpse of Mount Everest.
Highlight: Crossing the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge and reaching Namche Bazaar.
Day 4: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar
Elevation: 3,440 m
To help the body adjust to higher altitude, a short acclimatization hike is recommended. Popular options include hiking to the Everest View Hotel or visiting the nearby villages of Khumjung and Khunde. These hikes provide spectacular views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Thamserku.
Highlight: Stunning panoramic views of Everest and surrounding peaks.
Day 5: Namche Bazaar → Tengboche

Elevation: 3,440 m → 3,860 m
Trek Time: 5–6 hrs
The trail continues along a scenic ridge with incredible views of Ama Dablam, one of the most beautiful mountains in the Himalayas. After descending to the river and crossing a suspension bridge, the trail climbs steadily through pine forests to reach Tengboche Monastery, the spiritual center of the Khumbu region.
Highlight: Visit to the famous Tengboche Monastery with panoramic Himalayan views.
Day 6: Tengboche → Dingboche
Distance: ~11 km
Elevation: 3,860 m → 4,410 m
Trek Time: 5–6 hrs
The trail descends through forests before crossing the Imja Khola River. The landscape gradually becomes more alpine as you ascend toward Dingboche, a beautiful high-altitude village surrounded by fields protected by stone walls.
Highlight: Spectacular views of Ama Dablam, Island Peak, and Lhotse.
Day 7: Acclimatization Day in Dingboche
Elevation: 4,410 m
Another important acclimatization day. A popular hike leads to Nangkartshang Peak, which provides incredible views of Makalu, Lhotse, and the surrounding glaciers.
Highlight: One of the best panoramic viewpoints in the Khumbu region.
Day 8: Dingboche → Lobuche
Distance: ~8 km
Elevation: 4,410 m → 4,940 m

The trail climbs gradually through alpine terrain and glacial valleys. Along the way, trekkers pass memorial monuments dedicated to climbers who lost their lives on Everest. The dramatic landscape near the Khumbu Glacier makes this one of the most memorable sections of the trek.

Day 9: Lobuche → Everest Base Camp → Gorakshep
Distance: ~15 km
Elevation: 4,940 m → 5,364 m → 5,164 m
Trek Time: 7–8 hrs
Today is the most anticipated day of the trek. The trail follows the edge of the Khumbu Glacier to reach Everest Base Camp, the starting point for climbers attempting to summit Mount Everest. After celebrating at base camp, return to Gorakshep for the night.
Highlight: Standing at the legendary Everest Base Camp.
Day 10: Gorakshep → Kala Patthar → Dzongla
Distance: ~13 km
Elevation: 5,164 m → 5,545 m → 4,830 m
An early morning hike to Kala Patthar offers the best close-up view of Mount Everest and the surrounding Himalayan giants. After enjoying the sunrise, descend and continue trekking toward Dzongla.

Day 11: Dzongla → Cho La Pass → Thagnak
Distance: ~10 km
Elevation: 4,830 m → 5,420 m → 4,700 m
Trek Time: 7–8 hrs
One of the most adventurous days of the trek. The route climbs over the Cho La Pass, crossing glaciers and rocky terrain. From the pass, spectacular views of surrounding Himalayan peaks unfold before descending toward Thagnak.
Highlight: Crossing the dramatic Cho La Pass.
Day 12: Thagnak → Gokyo
Distance: ~6 km
Elevation: 4,700 m → 4,800 m
Trek Time: 3–4 hrs
The trail crosses the Ngozumpa Glacier, the longest glacier in the Himalayas. Soon the turquoise waters of the famous Gokyo Lakes appear, creating one of the most stunning landscapes in the Everest region.
Highlight: Arrival at the breathtaking Gokyo Lakes.
Day 13: Gokyo → Gokyo Ri → Machhermo
Distance: ~10 km
Elevation: 4,800 m → 5,357 m → 4,470 m
Early morning climb to Gokyo Ri, one of the best viewpoints in the Himalayas. From the summit, trekkers can see Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu — four of the world’s highest mountains.

Day 14: Machhermo → Namche Bazaar
Distance: ~14 km
Elevation: 4,470 m → 3,440 m
The trail descends through alpine valleys and beautiful forests as you return to Namche Bazaar, where trekkers often celebrate the successful completion of the high-altitude journey.
Highlight: Return to the lively Sherpa town of Namche.
Day 15: Namche Bazaar → Lukla
Distance: ~19 km
Elevation: 3,440 m → 2,860 m
The final trekking day retraces the trail along the Dudh Koshi River through villages and forests before reaching Lukla.
Highlight: Celebration dinner with the trekking team.
Day 16: Fly Lukla → Kathmandu
A scenic morning flight returns to Kathmandu, marking the end of this unforgettable Himalayan adventure.
